Navigation Investment Model (ORNIM)

Built in collaboration with the Corps Center
of Expertise for Inland Navigation , ORNIM consists of three
modules—the Waterway Supply and Demand Model (WSDM), the Lock
Risk Model, and the Optimization Module. ORNIM can be used to
assess the economic feasibility of a wide range of structural
and non-structural over as much as a 70 year horizon. The Optimization
Module can be used to select the optimal timing and set of measures
to maximize the net benefits of the river system.
